Oregon Strawberries are famous for their sweetness and excellent flavor. When gourmet ice-cream and yogurt producers need true strawberry flavor and color they look to Oregon. Our warm summer days and cool nights create ideal conditions for the development of strawberries that are far above average for flavor , color, and sweetness. The warm days of June cause the buildup of these components in the fruit. Then our cool nights slow plant respiration and create an overnight "dormancy" that preserves the sugars and flavors that were built up during the day. As a result fruit flavors, color and sweetness increase steadily from fruit blossom up until they are fully ripe for picking; sweet, red, and delicious.
